Frankenstien Part 4: Toning the drawing! Adding darks!
Here I used a number 10 flat brush to wash the drawing with diluted Cerulean blue deep. The blue will pervade the entire piece. Next I wash the piece with Pa
yne's Gray and Van Dyke Brown into the dark areas keeping close to the pencil work so it is intact. This way I won't lose the values and shapes of the original drawing. I'll add ink or mars black paint for the deepest shadows creating a nice sense of volume. The shadow shapes hold the piece together.
